Your Data, Your Devices

Every task, project, and note in AgenToDo syncs through iCloud — Apple's infrastructure, not ours.

MacPaw never sees, stores, or processes your task data. There are no MacPaw servers in the picture. No account required for core functionality. No analytics on your task content.

Locally, everything lives in a single SQLite store inside a shared app group container — the app, the background sync helper, the CLI, and the widgets all read the same file.

Your productivity system lives entirely on your devices.

Analytics — Your Choice

Analytics are consent-gated — you decide in Settings → Privacy. When enabled, the app reports usage patterns (for example, which kind of perspective was opened) and deliberately never sends the names of your perspectives, tasks, projects, or people.

iCloud Sync

AgenToDo uses Apple's CloudKit — your data is encrypted in transit and at rest by Apple, same infrastructure Apple trusts for its own apps. Enable Advanced Data Protection for end-to-end encryption of your private data.

Shared projects use CloudKit sharing. Participants can read shared data, so shared projects use Apple's standard CloudKit encryption — encrypted in transit and at rest, managed by Apple.

Works offline. Syncs when you reconnect. No cloud dependency for getting things done. When the same item is edited on two devices, the most recent edit wins.

Need a belt-and-suspenders copy? Make full backups — optionally password-protected — from Settings → Sync & Backups. Restoring replaces current data with the backup contents, and the confirmation dialog states exactly how many tasks will be loaded.

AI Transparency

AI only activates when you ask. Press ⌘E to open the command bar, or ⌘Return for task enrichment. That's it. No background AI processing — ever.

When you use AI, only the context for that specific request is sent to process. Nothing more.

Powered by Setapp AI+ — one provider, transparent. Without AI features, zero data leaves your device.

Every AI-suggested change is previewed before execution. You approve or reject. Always.

Location Privacy

Location features are entirely opt-in. Off by default.

Geofencing runs on-device via Apple's Core Location. No server round-trips. A transparency dashboard shows exactly what AgenToDo knows about your movements.

Export or delete all location data anytime. No location tracking, no profiling, no ads.

Voice Input

Speech recognition is transcribed either on-device using Apple's Speech framework or by our voice processing provider Respeecher.

Voice data is not stored or sent to MacPaw.

Accessibility

AgenToDo works for everyone.

• Dynamic Type — text scales with your system font size across every view.
• VoiceOver — full labels and hints on every interactive element. Navigate tasks, calendar, and sidebar entirely by voice.
• Reduce Motion — all animations respect your system preference. No pulsing, no unnecessary movement.

Works Offline

AgenToDo works without an internet connection. Create, complete, and organize tasks offline — everything syncs through iCloud when you reconnect. AI features gracefully disable when offline and re-enable automatically.

Contacts

Contact enrichment for People and delegation reads from your local Contacts. Names and photos appear on assigned tasks — that's all it's used for.

Contact data stays on-device.

Export & Portability

Export all data as TaskPaper or CSV anytime. Your data is never locked in — full portability.

Sharing

Shared projects sync through iCloud — not MacPaw servers. You control who has access and can revoke anytime.

The activity feed shows who changed what. Full accountability, full transparency.
